RetroClassic„ Woman’s Classic Race Car T-shirt featuring an Official Derek Bell ‘1995 France Endurance Race’ McLaren F1 GTR race No 51 design.
We have partnered with motorsport legend Derek Bell to produce an official range of t-shirts celebrating some of his greatest victories and most significant results.
This design features Bell’s proudest moment of his Le Mans career which was standing on the podium in 1995 with his son Justin Bell. The two of them are pictured standing alongside the Harrods-liveried McLaren F1 GTR that they shared with 1988 Le Mans winner Andy Wallace. The British trio led the race for a long time in dreadful conditions “ courtesy of some inspired night-time stints by Derek Bell and Wallace “ before gearbox problems relegated them to third by the time the chequered flag fell.Â
Derek Bell MBE has enjoyed one of the most successful, diverse and wide-ranging racing careers of any British racing drivers which spans over 40 years.
Bell is best-known as the consummate endurance sports car driver who won the Le Mans 24 Hours five times, the Daytona 24 Hours three times and the World Sports Car Champion twice! He is considered to be the greatest British racing driver ever to compete in endurance racing.
